Activty 8-1

Goggle Docs has great opportunities for students. Immediately, I was thinking of having all of my students with their own g-mail. Then, I could teach students to upload their writing to collaborate with peers and myself in the writing process. Identifying different colors for feedback comments is great!
Personally, I would like to upload my high school classmate information and share with a committee to help update information in preparation of a summer reunion. I have attempted this but am stuck. First, my document was not the right format for google docs. I did save it in another form- I can't remember which. Second, when I went to upload the document the computer said the document was too large. It gave suggestions on how to fix- but it was overwhelming. So for now I am sending the class info. as an attachement.

Activty 7A

Hello-
Well I have ventured into the Google Reader RSS feeder. What an opportunity to get abreast on current readings. I also went to Google News to search for information on single gender classrooms. Currently there was nothing out there but I'll wait and see what comes up. I already collected some information on the reader on this topic of interest.
I was confused with the blogging component and how I am only to feed to a blog. I will continue on this journey of learning as the only constant is change.

activity 3 Part 2

After reading the information on the white board about the 21st century learners these thoughts came to mind.
Energy, Engaging, a wide spectrum of knowledge, everyone is on their personal journey with discovery, Instant, the only constant is change, student engagement, tools needed is a new language we must be immersed in now, "Roll with the times."

One thing is certain, we can all connect to how we have changed as learners. More importantly, the impact technology has on us as learners is increasing constantly.

Activity 3 Part 1

I wanted to take this class to learn more about the web 2.0 tools. Initially I was introduced to google docs last summer. As a result I wanted to learn more about what resources I could use in my classroom and with my every day ventures in cyber world.

My expectation is to try and experiment new technologies in a non-threatening fashion. I would expect to not only be introduced but learn and feel comfortable applying them in my classroom. Especially to problem solve and figure things out when I hit some rough spots.

My goal for the class is to implement these web 2.0 tools into my class. I want to engage and excite my students in their learning.
